I realised from a young age I wanted to work with animals, and after completing work experience at a mixed veterinary practice in Scotland, I decided to pursue a career in veterinary nursing.

I worked in a veterinary hospital from the age of 16, and after qualifying in 1998, was promoted to senior nurse. A year later I travelled to Australia and worked within a large veterinary hospital for 6 months, where I experienced not only handling domestic pets, but a variety of wild-life as well!

I started working in Richmond Vets in 2001, and was promoted to Head Nurse in January 2002. Although I have enjoyed nursing animals for many years, when the new role of practice manager was offered in early 2010, I decided to rise to a different challenge.
